Drive 4500 kms to play croquet with Ken Edwards

In December 2012 I played in 3 different tournaments, The NSW Bronze Medal, NSW Gateball competition and the Victorian Open.
The NSW Bronze medal was a close tussle with all competitors on handicaps of minus 1/2 and lower. It would seem the lack of consistent competition in the second half of 2012 showed as not one player consistently played well through out the 3 day competition.Fortunate for me I played well enough to notch up enough wins. Close on my heels were Alan Honey and Rosie Graham, both of whom finished strongly on the final day.  Chech out the results on Croquet Scores – NSW Bronze Medal
So I have booked myself in to represent NSW for the ACA Gold medal event in Adelaide in March 2013.
The Wagga Wagga Croquet Club has some young enthusiastic gateball players who have taken up the sport in the past 15 months. The NSW State Gateball titles were held at the Mosman Croquet Club (Ken Edwards is a member). Our team consisted of 4 students age 11 – 17 and 3 more mature players in Peter & Wendy Lloyd and myself.
The Wagga team performed well despite mixed results and were successful in being awarded the “Best new team” award. Josh and Will also completed their referees certificate during the weekend.
I travelled to Melbourne, via Adelaide to play in the Victorian Open. Along the way I was able to narrowly avoid the highway to World’s End.

Almost at World's End - near where I was born.

Ken Edwards graciously partnered with me in the doubles of the Vic Open as he wants to exploit my media coverage

We were successful on the first day winning 3 of 4 games, narowly losing to Robert Fletcher & Liz Bassett after Robert completed a QPO.
On day 2 we couldn’t find our winning way, eventually finishing a credible 6th.
Thanks Ken, a pleasure playing with you.
