Have played in this event previously and always enjoy playing at Rich River (Echuca – Moama) and the drive across the Riverina Plains through Conargo.
Played on one of the best surfaces in Australia, with relatively easy hoops, one can only blame one’s self for errors.

Was thrilled to get an invitation to play in the Armstrong Trophy, an event named after Tom & Jean Armstrong and are both still alive. I think Tom is 100 and Jean 98. Being in Adelaide also gives me the chance to catch up with my family – mum lives only 3 blocks up the street from the Brighton Croquet Club.

Having done my research and questioned other pidcock users (thanks Pete & Kevin), I was able to capitalise on the favourable cross rates on the Aussie dollar and order a pidcock mallet. The very stylish looking mallet arrived only 3 days before the next tournament. Thank goodness for daylight savings, allowing me to put in 6 hours of practise after work. Have also changed my stance to a more upright stance to take advantage of the pherical weighting.
