Down to Tasmania

Having spent the last couple of weeks finalising moving and catching up on work; was great to head down to Melbourne and experience something different and board the “Spirit of Tasmania”. Dwayne McCormack and Alice were also on board. Was able to get some sleep are however not the best due to my land legs.

The next morning had breakfast at “Anders house of chocolate”. What a way to start two weeks in Tasmania! Journeyed the long way to Hobart via St Helen’s (in the north east corner) through to Bicheno and then heading down the east coast through sheep country, rainforest, coastline with spectacular hills and enjoying some strawberry ice cream at “Kate’s dairy farm”. Picked up mum at the airport and eventually found our way to Bob and Sue Beattie’s place in Hobart.

With the great weather took the opportunity to head up to Mount Wellington and take in the views of Hobart and the surrounds. Called in to the Sandy Bay croquet club and had a hit for a couple of hours. The lawns are running at approximately 10 plumbers and are quite smooth so should be some good croquet over the next few days. Mum and I then drove down to Port Arthur and we had a look around. On the way back partook in an Australian “must do” having fish and chips at Constitution Dock.
